Tomasz Madzia

Tomasz Madzia (born in 1995) is a guitarist, composer, and guitar instructor. For more than a decade, he has been actively involved in both live performance and music education, combining stage work with teaching and studio-based creative projects. He first gained wider recognition in 2012 as a semi-finalist in the third season of the television talent show Must Be The Music. During the competition, he attracted the attention of both the judges and the audience with his guitar interpretations of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Turkish March and Joe Satriani’s Satch Boogie. He received many positive comments from the judging panel, including from the late Olga “Kora” Jackowska, who stated during the semi-final episode that he was “like Jimi Hendrix” to her. Following his participation in the show, he returned to television on numerous occasions as a guest performer, appearing on networks such as Polsat and TVN. Among others, he performed alongside Tomasz Kowalski, winner of the fourth season of Must Be The Music, and Maciej Krystkowiak, joining them in a performance of the original song Sen (“Dream”). In 2014, he released his debut instrumental album, Dreamer, the result of several years of developing his skills as both a composer and performer. Between 2014 and 2017, he toured and performed alongside artists such as Grupa Furmana and Gosia Andrzejewicz. In 2015, he began his music education at the University of Silesia, majoring in Artistic Education at the Faculty of Arts in Cieszyn. There, he expanded his musical knowledge and studied guitar under Professor Karol Ferfecki. His work with the Harmonia Choir further contributed to his musical development, allowing him to perform on major stages alongside renowned Polish artists such as Justyna Steczkowska and Andrzej Lampert. Since then, he has regularly participated in concert projects, recording sessions, and musical events both in Poland and abroad. Throughout his career as a guitarist, he has shared the stage with artists including Beata Kozidrak, Kasia Moś, Maja Hyży, Stanisław Soyka, and the Polish Film Music Orchestra. He has also taken part in numerous outdoor concerts, cultural events, and charitable projects, co-creating the GraMy DoBBro initiative, which brings together musicians from the Podbeskidzie region. Music education remains an important part of his professional activity. For many years, he has provided private guitar lessons for teenagers and adults, preparing students for both live performances and studio work. His teaching approach is strongly influenced by the practical experience gained through years of concert activity. Since 2008, he has consistently shared his musical work online through various platforms, ranging from YouTube to TikTok and Instagram (@TomaszMadziaMusic). Among the musicians who have had the greatest influence on his artistic development, he cites Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, John Petrucci, Carlos Santana, and Gary Moore. However, due to his musical upbringing at home, he also points to artists such as Freddie Mercury, Jean-Michel Jarre, and numerous composers and performers representing the world of classical music as important influences. His work is primarily focused on guitar-oriented, rock, and instrumental music while remaining open to collaboration with artists representing a wide variety of musical genres.
